Treatments for plantar warts target the virus that causes them. The virus infects the deepest layer of the epidermis, which is called the basal layer.  Treating warts on the bottom of your feet is especially hard because you have to get through the thickest skin on your entire body. That’s why over-the-counter or even liquid nitrogen treatments are often ineffective. These solutions remain on the surface and have trouble reaching the right layer of skin.

What is it?

What is the Cantharone-plus Chemical treatment for plantar warts?

  1. Canthacur-PS is a triple-action medication:
  2. Cantharidine, which causes skin to blister, right down to the infected layer.
  3. This medication acts directly on cell division and helps eliminate infected cells.
  4. Salicilic acid, which makes it easier for the other two products to penetrate the skin.

What are the benefits of Cnatharone-Plus treatment?

  • Painless on application
  • No risk of scarring
  • More effective than over-the-counter treatments or liquid nitrogen
How does the treatment work?
  1. Establish a diagnosis :

First, the podiatrist performs a clinical examination to confirm that you have plantar warts. Then the podiatrist decides on a treatment plan with the patient.

  2. Remove surrounding tissue :

Thick, dead skin is removed using a scalpel. This is painless.

  3. Apply medication :

Cantharone-plus is carefully applied and then the area is covered with a special type of bandage. The bandage must be left on and kept dry for 24 hours.

  4. Follow-up appointment :

A follow-up appointment is required two weeks later to see if another application is needed.

Myth!
You have to kill the Mother Wart in order to kill the rest.

Unfortunately, plantar warts don’t have parents! If you have several plantar warts, each one will need to be treated individually. In rare cases, a patient’s immune system can activate during treatment and help eliminate other warts.
