Heading One

This type of evaluation is necessary to correctly assess any patient complaining of foot or postural pain, for any alignment problems or deformities (for example; flat feet, bunions, crooked knees, shorter leg…) or for any gait/walking problems (knock knees, pigeon toed gait…)

The podiatrist will start by going over your condition and complaint as well as your overall health status. He will than proceed to his physical evaluation. The next step will be evaluating the way you walk using a computerized gait analysis system with a pressure-plate and cameras. After, the podiatrist will take different xray angles of your feet in order to be able to accurately measure their alignment and symmetry and to evaluate the quality of their bones and joints. Some painful conditions that affect soft tissue (ligaments, muscles, tendons) cannot be seen on xrays, this is why ultrasound can be sometimes necessary to precise your diagnosis.

It is after this thorough evaluation that the podiatrist will be able to explain your results and his observations and will be able to propose a tailored plan of treatment.

The total cost of the biomechanical evaluation including the xrays is 165$. If the ultrasound imagery is necessary, an additional fee of 120$ will be applied. To learn more about this service, checkout this page :

Podiview

Podiview is a unique technology that allows us to evaluate the efficacy of plantar orthotics right inside your shoes, in action! It consists of thin soles containing hundreds of sensors that are inserted in your shoes. We than have you walk with and without your orthotics. That way, we can compare the results and measure the effects of your orthotics on your gait, identify areas that can be improved and optimize your orthotics by modifying them! This should be done every 2 years for patients wearing our orthotics.

This service is for people who have not developed a new problem/pain and that want a new pair of orthotic and/or who need a checkup of their orthotics fabricated here, at Podimédic, that are less than 5 years old.

The cost of this evaluation is 95$. To learn more about this service, checkout this page :

It allows us to proceed to the biomechanical evaluation and to evaluate and calibrate your existing orthotics with the Podiview system. This should be done every 5 years for patients wearing our orthotics. It is also for patients wearing orthotics but that have not been evaluated here, at Podimédic. This service is also for existing patients wearing orthotics but who have developed a new problem or pain in the meantime.

Surgery – 1 toe / Surgery - Multiple toes

The ingrown toenail surgery is a simple and effective procedure to get rid of this problem for good. This permanent solution preserves the aesthetics of the nail and is ideal for patients with recurrent ingrown toenails.

The operation can be done the same day in our office. First, you will meet the podiatrist to evaluate your condition, establish if this procedure is for you, explain what are the alternative treatments and answer your questions.
The first step of the ingrown toenail surgery is to freeze your toe with local anesthesia. After, only the offending part of the nail is removed from the skin. The exposed nail root (or matrix) is then eliminated with a chemical solution to stop that part of the nail from growing back, making it a permanent fix.

The following week you will have simple homework to do consisting of foot soaks and bandages to aid recovery. A followup appointment is planned 1 week post-op to ensure your toe is healing well.

The price of the procedure, including the consultation and local anesthesia, is 350$ for the first border. Any additional border is 125$ (ex : toenail ingrowing on both sides of the same toe). Additional local anesthesia (for other toes) is an extra of 75$.
